Day 297 | down to a windswept Le Grand Beach: it's great to see the water again

73 km | Heading west total: 14,283 km

Wind, wind, wind.

Battling all the way.

Today seemed all uphill, I didn’t even notice when the road descended.

A tough day when you go just over 9 km/ hour for almost 8 hours. In fact this was the longest and one of the toughest days since I headed over the Brindabella hills in early January.

By the late afternoon I found myself pedalling slowly with no tree in sight to give respite from all that oxygen rushing past.

I looked at the speedo: 7.5 km/ hour.

When I got to the top of a hill, a little inside Cape Le Grand National Park, I found that the trailer tyre had obviously been flat for a long while. No wonder progress was ridiculously slow. That fixed I pumped up the big tyres as well.

Frustrated: yeah, a bit.

It’s how you deal with life’s little difficulties that define you as a person, so they say.
