Day 212 | Mambi Island on the Ord River: down with the swarms of magpie geese

59 km | Heading west total: 9,465 km

Today I met a bunch of local farm workers off for a cooling lunchtime swim in the Ord River. They just couldn’t get over how keen I was to be out riding down their farm road. (I can tell you that it was far too hot for much enthusiasm at that stage of the day.) They gave me a very cold beer, a VB, and a delicious ham sandwich.

Thanks, Spud and Shane.

For some unknown reason I had a completely unrelated question in the back of my mind the rest of the afternoon: how many generations will it take for the locals to start growing tails?
