Day 10 | On the road to Donnybrook: more obscure roads in the south west WA

55 km | zzOz total: 483 km

Heading into Collie this morning I felt a spooky link to something in my past.

Kinda like heading a similar distance from Kokatahi to Hokitika over on the West Coast in my days working for the NZ Forest Service.

Common denominator: a unique wetting drizzle.

Same total gloomy-ness.

And another town filled with empty pubs with big verandahs, still with sticky carpet and the dank smell of smoke despite the public display of smoking, internally, having been banned for some years in these parts.

I’m hoping there’s some difference these days: it didn’t stop drizzling on the Coast for 3 months.

Yeah, sure feels like winter.
