Day 314 | Last day in Alice: finally
Each evening I realise I need another full day to finalise preparations: my final parcel of parts was awaiting me, hooray, so I fit the new rear tyre, new grips, new chain, etc; post another large parcel to the long suffering D + C in Melbourne, their garage must have just about collapsed from what I have stashed there; getting in supplies of food, fuel for stove, etc; cranking out these blog entries,groan; resting those battered feet; generally socialising, etc.
The money supplies have been topped up, met some excellent people, found I really like Alice as a town.
The fantastic Larapinta Trail exercise has extended my stay but the time has finally swung around to my exit from the town.
Next stop due east to Boulia, ie, Queensland, before Carnarvon National Park, then swinging north to Cairns, Cooktown, Lakefield National Park, Cape York tip, ie, the pointy bit up the top of Oz, Mt Isa, Birdsville, Murray River from sea to source, well Jindabyne, Melbourne.
But first Boulia.
