Day 547 | Herons Bend Reserve: again

rest day

Didn’t get so far today.

Actually I hardly moved, I had found this terrific perch on the river bank finally, why move on immediately, after all it’s been 9 days since I left Adelaide. The exercise was in the forearm department for a change, filtering drinking water from that muddy River Murray, plus some thinking work in my head.

There’s been a fair effort being put into getting a new website I’m building whipped into shape. The design came together easy enough back in Burra, a few tweaks are required, the major task is getting the written part coherent enough, writing concisely, informatively, snappily, without the usual cliches that most websites believe, mistakenly, that they can get away with because everyone else does. Somehow it just seems insufficient to make a claim that you are the best, surely it’s better to show, to prove, you are the best, or failing that, the coolest.

That’s the task and at least we are all in agreement.

Meanwhile the temperature has been getting up, around 36ºC today, although plenty warmer in the tent, that river comes in handy, but during the evening the wind swans around 180º, thunder and lightning all around and the tent is no longer sheltered, I’m thinking I’m about to be blown to Kansas with the gusts.

Does this mean a tail wind tomorrow?
