Day 566 | Bethunga Bridge: the tide is high in Lake Hume

49 km | zzOz total: 18,617 km

The last day of the not much distance for a while, I was heading through Albury, population 85,000, and have things to do.

An early encounter will hills that made their appearance at the violet and blue end of the spectrum in the distance yesterday, the granny cog was employed for the first time since those Adelaide Hills, more of that to come in the next days.

First, a replacement for my long sleeved biking shirt which has acquired additional ventilation for the length of the back.

Tick, done.

Next, some time in the library making adjustments to the website I’ve been working on, almost to the stage it can be released to the public, completing the letterhead and invoice templates and the new company style guide for all the communications, and that done, the big job for the day, the matching business card.

It all seems to flow, I’m happy with what has been created and the client is thrilled, it’s captured the essence of what the new business is about, I tap out blogs and resize photos for a couple of blogs entries before being kicked out of the library, 5 rushed hours later.

Then I join another rushing throng at the supermarket buying food bigtime because with my cross country through Australia’s high country the next supermarket will be 10 days away.

Last is to load up with town water supply for tonight, I finally get to use my plumber’s tap multi-handle I’ve been carrying from Perth, all water sources in this town seem bereft of taps.

It’s 6pm with the sun over my shoulder when I finally get to leave town for the 14 km uphill to Hume Weir.

It’ll all be uphill now with those too brief interludes racing down the hard gained elevation.

Up, up, up.
