Day 346 | Warianna Creek: camped behind the only bush for miles
90 km | zzOz total: 9283 km
Just like yesterday, the ride, uphill, same wind smacking fully in the face, later I find it had been generally 25 – 30 kph, 50 kph gusts, and, over there, a less than inspiring, cleared, fenced landscape.
I’d been expecting some assistance from the prevailing wind, a SEer, but I’m going to have to wait for the days following the rain forecast for Friday before it swings around to the south and the temperature drops 10°C.
So, just plugged into 10 podcasts of This American Life to get me through the day, not much else happening at 13.3 kph on this sealed road.
Gee, I managed that on a day or two out on the Plenty.
The hills are only going to more grandly oscillate, with the emphasis on the uphill phase, as I plough through the hilliest tranche of Queensland heading towards the Atherton Tablelands behind Cairns.
Hills, now that’s something new, well at least since around Cape Leeuwin almost a year ago.
