Day 153 | civilisation at Timber Creek: well, at least a shop and a shower

62 km | Heading west total: 6,875 km

Well, today is the end of an era.

It is the last day’s travelling on unsealed roads, err, tracks, for a goodly time.

Since I left Adelaide back on Day 32 with the trip speedo reading 1401km I’ve managed to run up another 5500km of which about 4800km have been on unsealed roads. From here it’s mostly on that asphalt for a while.

Blacktop, 4WDs, roadtrains and caravans.

People.

It’s going to require a major adjustment.

The only dusty patch on the horizon is the Gibb River road on the Kununurra to Derby stretch, and that’s a month or two off.
