Day 555 | Spences Bend: down on the ol' Murray

52 km | zzOz total: 17,882 km

I’m camped right on the bend of the river, the water flat but noticeably moving its murky bulk along, there’s the occasional splash of a fish jumping for its supper, a large kangaroo nibbles fresh grass on the other side down by the water, indeterminate birds are chirping happily, the large bull ants are present but not swarming over my scattered belongings, no mossies, the sky completely blue, no clouds in evidence, but up the river, in a direction that’s a surprise, didn’t realise that was west, there’s increasingly an orange tone over that swathe of tall, robust River Red Gums.

I’m smiling in my tent, taking it all in.

I’m happy about the decisions, big and small, I’ve taken in my life that have led me to this place, at this time, in a frame of mind that can accept, appreciate the world as it is.
