Day 169 | ending up at Harriet Creek, Kakadu Highway: another bushcamp

Leaving Pine Creek and starting out towards Kakadu National Park on the Kakadu Highway I could see a big pall of black smoke in the distance.
As I got closer It was apparent that it was one of those fast moving grass fires. And moving fast towards the Pine Creek diesel powered electricity generator. The fire was close: the 4 m high flames were maybe 50 m from the diesel storage tanks.
No big deal it seems, there was only one car there. No one was perturbed.
I pedalled on through the dense smoke.
