Day 46 | Beacon, yes that's a township: still haven't seemed to get going

67 km | zzOz total: 2,220 km

I rolled down the hill into the little township, Beacon, perhaps that’s a little flattering but there is a shop, of the sort that bread comes in on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there ain’t even bread of the frozen type remaining, a separate petrol station and the few streets are wide enough to turn your average camel train, this morning and saw I could get a shower at the caravan park.

Cost: $5.50.

I met the caretaker, no worries, paid up then thought, what about doing the washing, it’s a, err, good day for drying the clothes.

It’s been a while. And over 400km of a sort of civilisation, ie, sealed road and intermittent townships of the Beacon variety, before I go bush in a big way again.

How much to stay the night, I asked. It’s not quite 10am.

$5.50, you just paid.
